Reviews are powerful aids that assist authors in improving their creativity skills.

How do I write a constructive review?

When reviewing stories, please keep the following in mind:

  • If you like it, please say so. Authors love to get positive feedback.

  • Please be careful not to be too negative, as authors have often poured a lot of time, energy and emotion into their creations. Constructive criticism is always welcome.

  • Try to be as insightful, observant, articulate and as helpful as you can be.

  • Look for areas of the work that weren’t clear or were confusing. Authors often pour a story out on the computer and it’s easy to accidentally leave out a few connecting pieces.

  • Feel free to give suggestions for potential future plot ideas.

  • Ask questions. Insightful questions are a great way to fuel an author’s imagination.
